Burton's neighborhood bakery & grocer

Fresh bread on your table,
real groceries on your shelf

We bake every morning before the sun comes up — sourdough loaves with a crackling crust, buttery croissants that shatter when you break them, and a full grocery aisle stocked with things you can actually pronounce. This is what happens when a bakery decides to take its shelves seriously.

Three pillars. One shop.
Everything done right.

Artisan Bakery

Sourdough, croissants, focaccia, and seasonal pastries — all mixed, fermented, and baked before dawn. No industrial shortcuts. No day-old bread sold as fresh.

  • Hand-rolled sourdough loaves
  • Butter croissants (laminated daily)
  • Seasonal fruit tarts & pastries
  • Savory quiches & flatbreads

Specialty Grocery

A curated selection of pantry staples, local honey, small-batch olive oils, artisan cheeses, and things you won't find at the big-box stores down the road.

  • Local Michigan honey & preserves
  • Imported olive oils & vinegars
  • Artisan cheeses & charcuterie
  • Pantry staples & baking supplies

Coffee & Espresso

Properly pulled shots, silky steamed milk, and a coffee program that treats every cup like it matters. Pair it with a pastry — that's the whole point.

  • Single-origin pour-over options
  • Espresso drinks & cortados
  • House-made syrups & seasonal specials
  • Loose-leaf teas & hot chocolate

Built on a simple conviction:
good food shouldn't be complicated.

Beans & Leaves started with two questions: Why does fresh bread have to come from a factory? And why can't a bakery also be a place where you grab real groceries without driving across town?

We opened our doors in Burton with a deck oven, a flour bin, and a commitment to doing the basics exceptionally well. Every sourdough loaf gets a full fermentation. Every cup of coffee gets pulled properly. Every item on our grocery shelves gets vetted because we'd put it in our own pantry.

This isn't a trend we're following. It's just how we decided to run things — and it's why people keep coming back.
